The Saeys Lab is known for its innovative work in bioinformatics and computational biology, including the analysis of cytometry and single-cell transcriptomics data, cell-cell communication inference and spatial omics.

As a key member of our team, you will:

  • Implement and further develop NicheNet, our advanced cell-cell communication tool, in Python.
  • Enhance the interoperability of NicheNet with various other tools used for single-cell RNA-seq data analysis and cell-cell communication inference.
  • Contribute to the development of bioinformatics software, driving forward our research capabilities.

Profile

Essential

  • You obtained a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Bioinformatics,  Informatics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
  • Proficient in Python
  • Strong communication skills in English

Desirable but not required

Preference will be given to candidates with experience with

  • programming in R
  • experience or interest in single-cell RNA-seq data analysis and cell-cell communication.
