About the Lab

The Laboratory of Computational Biology (Stein Aerts lab) at the VIB Center for Brain & Disease Research, and the KU Leuven Center for Human Genetics, is seeking a creative computational postdoc to study cellular identity and the systems biology of gene regulation.

Job description

You will explore single-cell epigenomics and transcriptomics data, infer gene regulatory networks, model  genomic enhancers, and study the impact of genomic variation on gene regulation. Depending on your expertise, you can apply machine learning techniques or statistical/Bayesian data integration techniques. You can explore big data compendia such as the emerging single-cell atlases (Human Cell Atlas, Fly Cell Atlas, etc.). Our biological field of study is broad, so you will have the opportunity to work on diverse biological processes ranging from human stem cells, neural crest, brain, reprogramming, and cancer; to Drosophila eye and brain development, evolution, and aging. See our lab website for more information on the biology, bioinformatics, and technology we are interested in: http://www.aertslab.org.
