Job description

In a collaboration with Janssen Pharmaceutica: "A framework for deep phenotyping and biomarker discovery using single cell transcriptomics" we are looking for an ambitious and motivated postdoctoral researcher to work on the development of single cell data analysis workflows. This part of the project will focus on the development of robust, reproducible analysis workflows able to process large quantities of data in from a number of highly relevant diseases and ensure that the workflows and predictions integrate with tools developed by other partners in the project.


  • This research position is open to candidates with a strong background in computational sciences. Experience with Cloud (e.g. AWS) and HPC computing; (bioinformatics) computational pipelines; container systems (Docker, Singularity) and at least one relevant programming language is required.
  • Knowledge of human disease biology and (single cell) transcriptomics is an advantage but not strictly required.
  • The ability to work in a multidisciplinary research team as well as effective communication skills and a good mastery of the English language is essential.

We offer

A stimulating international research environment. The contract for this position will be for 2 years but can be prolonged pending performance.

Starting date: as soon as possible, preferably 01/10/2018
