Job description

The Molecular Biology of Leukemia laboratory (Prof. Jan Cools, VIB - KU Leuven) is looking for a motivated postdoctoral researcher for studies of transcriptional regulation in leukemia.

The project will focus on the study of transcriptional complexes by ChIP-seq and Mass Spec analysis, the effect on transcription by other mutations and the use of leukemia mouse models to verify the relevance of these findings.

We look for highly motivated candidates with expertise in cancer research and with a track record in cell biology, transcription factor function and/or mouse models. We provide a stimulating and strong scientific environment in a cancer department.

You can find more information on our projects here:

  • PhD degree in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology or equivalent
  • Strong expertise in basic research technologies (Western blotting, PCR, cloning, cell culture, flow cytometry, etc.)
  • Experience with cancer research
  • Good publication record
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Experience with transcription factors and gene expression regulation is a plus
  • Experience with mouse models is a plus

We offer

VIB-KULeuven is an exciting, interdisciplinary research institute with excellent facilities and strong research groups in genetics, oncology, neurobiology, immunology, virology, molecular biology and translational research.
