The laboratory of Microglia and Inflammation in Neurological Diseases (MIND), headed by Renzo Mancuso, is a part of the VIB-Center for Molecular Neurology (CMN) and focuses on multiple aspects of microglial biology and neuroinflammation in Alzheimer’s disease and other brain disorders.
This is an exciting job opportunity that aims to elucidate the role of microglia in Alzheimer’s disease. Recent genetic findings place microglia as central transducer of genetic risk for Alzheimer’s and you will investigate how translates into microglial functional alterations and leads to pathology. The applicant will be at the interface of cutting-edge research using stem cell technology and state-of-the-art humanized microglia mouse models, Alzheimer’s disease genetics and translation towards novel therapies.
