Description
The laboratory of Neuroimmunology (NIM), headed by Prof. Dr. Emanuela Pasciuto, is a part of the VIB-Center for Molecular Neurology (CMN) and focuses on multiple aspects of T cells biology in the context of neuropathology.
We are looking for a lab technician who will join the team and provide hands-on support in tasks related to mouse colony maintenance, molecular biology, flow cytometry and mouse experiments.
Profile
The candidate:
- Should have a (professional) bachelor’s degree or Master’s in neuroscience, immunology, molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, biomedicine or related disciplines.
- Both experienced and junior candidates will be considered.
- Will be responsible of the daily organization of the lab, including biobanking activities, mouse colony maintenance and general lab supplies
- Should have experience with general molecular biology techniques
- Experience with flow cytometry and immunology is preferred
- Ability to work independently in relation to lab organization is required
- Should have good communication, organizational and writing skills.
- Should be motivated and independent, while being able to interact effectively with other members of the team.
- Should be proficient in written and spoken English.
- Since you will be involved in experiments with laboratory animals, you will need at least a FELASA B certificate
Activities
- Mouse colony maintenance and experiments
- General molecular biology tasks: DNA and RNA analysis, cloning, etc.
- Flow cytometry and histology
- Data documentation in electronic format
- Maintenance of general lab supplies and ordering of consumables
- General structural tasks related to biobanking
